When I first met Dave, in 2015, on my first visit to Montana for the holidays and to meet the family, I knew right away that Dan and Dave had a special relationship. Not only did they communicate with one another solely through movie quotes, but the way Dave could make Dan laugh is only possible by Dave and a few others close to Dan. Dave brought out a wonderful fun-loving side of Dan. Dave was able to make people feel special and heard. Whether he was holding the door for a stranger, or picking up an injured dog on the side of the road, he cared deeply for people and animals.
Dave, in your honor, I promise to hold the door for strangers, to take pause and listen deeper in conversation with loved ones and to love and care for Pesto. I will also try my hardest to keep up with Sarah, Dan, and Roy in their pun-offs. Rest in peace, Davey Baby. I love you.
