The David MacIver Loman Foundation will be created to honor the life, spirit, and legacy of David MacIver Loman — a son, brother, friend, coach, mentor, and humanitarian whose heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
David lived a life defined by compassion, creativity, and unwavering support of others. Whether coaching young skiers down the mountain, appreciating films and storytelling, or simply being a steadfast friend and family member, David showed up with deep love and authenticity. His humor, warmth, and loyalty were constants, even as he quietly navigated struggles few could see.
Potential Areas of Focus
While the Foundation's specific mission is still being defined, we will seek to continue David’s legacy by supporting the people, passions, and struggles that shaped his world:
- Mental Health and Suicide Prevention: providing resources, education, and compassionate support for those struggling with mental health challenges and their loved ones.
- Support for Those Battling Alcoholism: helping individuals in recovery find hope, community, and healing.
- Film, Creativity, and Storytelling: celebrating and nurturing a love for film, reading, and storytelling.
- Skiing and Ski Racing: offering scholarships, mentorship, and support to young athletes pursuing the sport David loved so deeply.
At its heart, the David MacIver Loman Foundation will exist to honor a life lived with compassion, kindness, and an unwavering belief in others. In David’s memory, we will strive to make the world a little lighter, a little warmer, and a little more connected.

David did — and through this work, he still will.
